ARABIAN
CROSSES AT OPEN SPORTHORSE, HUNTER AND PONY SALES:
At
the March 20, 2010 Virginia Hunter and Sport Horse sale in Herndon, VA, a very sucessful 9yo half-Arab large jumping pony
and a very elegant large bay 11 yo dressage gelding by a Muscat son out of a Trakehner mare were included. The former
was a "no sale", and not sure if the latter did sell (audio trouble). Most of the sale was "No Sales", however good
to see some good Half-Arabs in some Open Hunter/Sport Hose sales.

2006 WORLD EQUESTRIAN GAMES
Held in Aachen, Germany in August
Horses of Arabian breeding dominated the Endurance Riding competition in entries and
in wins.
The individual Gold went to a purebred from Spain; and while the "Team of 3" competition
went to Belgium with "unknown-saddlehorses" made up the team, the others were predominantly Arabians, with a few Anglo-Arabians
included. See complete results at
THE COURSE FOR ENDURANCE--After
160 km
in six loops and a riding time of 9 hours 12 min 27
seconds, the winning pair entered the main stadium
to
cross the finishing line under torrential downpour..

Scottsdale 2005
Hunter classes very well filled, sporthorse in hand mostly filled, dressage had some
large classes, others not so much, over fence classes unclear--as most of you know, it rained a lot this year.

ARABIANS AT THE 2004 OLYMPICS:
EVENTING
The Italian Teams
Vent D’Arade with rider Fabio Magni
completed
the Olympic Eventing competition with very respectable scores.
This
Anglo-Arabian is 17 years old.
JUMPING
Dibme de Cephe--a 13 yo Anglo-Arabian on the
French team made a very respectable showing in the Qualifying round on Sunday, August 22, 2004.
This "storybook horse" that won the 2004 World Cup as a "surprise winner" (definite understatement)
pulled up lame on a landing in the middle of the Individual qualifying.
Vet reports are that he has a bowed tendon.
He was the first of two noteable horses to come up lame mid-course--see the Individual Final
results about Chris Kappler in the silver-bronze jump-off. He pulled a flexor tendon.
